This vintage African cloth is handmade in the Ivory Coast, West Africa - the artwork varies from one village to the next.
This fabric was created in late XXth century, handwoven and hand-dyed by Baule people who belong to Akan group. They inhabit Côte d’Ivoire between Comoe and Bandama rivers. These pieces are composed of 10 cotton strips hand and machine sewn together to complete the textile with fringe on each end. Each is uniquely yours as they are hand stitched + flawed in the most perfect ways.
These artworks can be used as throws on a couch, at the end of the bed, stacked up in a floor basket, or even to make cushion covers.
Dimensions: 40.5" x 55" (this is an average estimate as each varies slightly)
