These striking recycled sea glass beads from Ghana are the finishing touch to any room. Lay them on a coffee table book, in a bowl on a side table, use a simple nail to hang on the wall, or even wear them around your neck.
Krobo tribes-people are known for the beautiful recycled glass beads they create using a process developed by their forebears. Interestingly, the powder glass method used to make these African beads is as simple as it is elegant -- the artists gather old, broken, or otherwise unused pieces of glass. The glass is crushed into a versatile powder that can be shaped in bead molds designed for this purpose.
The strand is approx. 26" long, and each bead is about 23-25mm in diameter. Due to the handmade nature of these beads they have natural imperfections - this is their character. Finish of beads may vary slightly between matte to slightly shiny.
